Wonderful antique Stecher Halloween postcard featuring a lively gathering of witches surrounding a large glowing jack-o’-lantern, with a black cat in the foreground, owl overhead, flying bats, full moon, and corn stalks framing the scene.
The front reads:
“Hallowe’en
May each old Witch that here is seen,
Bring you Good Luck on Hallowe’en.”
Beautifully colored with attractive embossed detailing visible from the reverse.
Reverse is marked Series 216 D and contains a handwritten Halloween greeting dated October 28, 1911 and postmark cancelled October 31, 1911.
Condition: Fair to good antique condition with noticeable creasing, surface wrinkles, corner and edge wear, and age-related toning. Dark surface scuffing is present near the lower-left front. Despite these imperfections, the colorful Halloween illustration remains vibrant and displays beautifully. Postally used in 1911 with original stamp, cancellation, and handwritten correspondence. Please examine photos carefully for the overall condition.
