This is a vintage New Old Stock (NOS) C.I. Compass Industries Tomcat 508 folding lockback knife, handcrafted in Seki, Japan by legendary knifemaker Tak Fukuta. Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knifemakers' Guild and spent decades crafting high-caliber blades for top-tier brands before his passing.
The knife features a sharp, clip-point Hi-Stainless steel blade with full tang lockback construction, heavy solid brass bolsters, brass pins, and rich dark wood handle scales. It retains its tight factory lockup, smooth action, and crisp tang stampings. It comes complete with its original vintage factory box.
Condition Details:
This knife is in unused, New Old Stock condition. The blade is clean with its original factory edge. The brass bolsters show light, natural age patina consistent with long-term storage, which can easily be left original for collectors or polished to a bright shine. The original box exhibits light shelf wear along the edges and corners.
