STRIKING VINTAGE TURKISH COPPER WALL ART SET — TWO DECORATIVE PLATES
Offered together is a beautiful pair of vintage Turkish copper decorative plates featuring two distinctly different designs: ornate Islamic/Arabic calligraphy and an intricately decorated Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia) Istanbul scene.
The larger plate measures approximately 13 inches across and features dramatic Arabic-style calligraphy against a deep dark background. Copper and lighter metallic accents create strong contrast, with multiple decorative borders surrounding the central calligraphic design. This is an especially eye-catching piece when displayed on a wall.
The smaller plate measures approximately 9 inches across and features a detailed depiction of Ayasofya / Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. The architectural scene is surrounded by an elaborate floral and leaf pattern with extensive engraved or etched detailing. “Aya Sofya Istanbul” appears beneath the central image.
Both plates have copper-colored backs, and the smaller plate retains a hanging loop on the reverse. The pair looks excellent displayed together and would work beautifully in an eclectic, bohemian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Turkish, or global-inspired interior.
These are vintage pre-owned pieces and show age-appropriate surface wear, scratches, patina, discoloration and areas of finish wear. The larger plate has visible wear around portions of the outer edge.
