Bring true mid-century holiday charm to your collection with this rare, authentic 1950s ceramic Santa Claus beverage set. Imported from Japan by Tilso, this kitschy holiday classic features a rare animation design layout that makes it exceptionally collectible.
Instead of standard matching cups, this set includes four individual mugs that depict a distinct 4-stage animated sequence of a wink:
- Eyes Partially Closed / Squinting
- Both Eyes Fully Closed / Asleep
Santa Pitcher: 5\" inches tall- Santa Face Mugs: 3\" inches tall
Condition Notes:
This set is in wonderful, authentic vintage condition with great display appeal. Consistent with its 70+ year age, there is typical light wear to the red cold-painted handles and hats as pictured. The glaze shows light, natural crazing lines (faint spiderweb fracturing) typical of mid-century Japanese ceramics. There are no large structural chips, cracks, or repairs.
The bottom of the ceramics features the authentic block-stamped \"JAPAN\" mark. A perfect addition to a mid-century modern (MCM) holiday display or a thoughtful gift for a vintage Christmas enthusiast!
