Up for sale is a rare, historically significant pairing of official United States Army Special Forces Field Manuals published in 1965. These are authentic, original military printings—not modern reproductions. Both volumes feature matching institutional stamps on the covers from the US Army SPWAR (Special Warfare) School, offering excellent provenance from active service-era training.
Manuals Included in This Lot:
1. FM 31-20: Special Forces Operational Techniques (December 1965)
• Focus: The tactical "how-to" handbook covering unconventional warfare, counterinsurgency, intelligence, infiltration, demolitions, and psychological operations.
2. FM 31-21: Special Forces Operations (June 1965)
• Focus: The high-level doctrinal guide outlining the deployment, structure, and operational employment of Airborne Special Forces groups and guerrilla warfare frameworks.
Condition Report:
Both manuals are in solid, completely intact vintage condition with clean internal pages. They have been well-preserved with tight bindings.
• Spines & Binding: Both spines remain tight, flat, and structurally sound. FM 31-20 shows minor vertical compression wrinkling on the paper wrap but remains fully readable.
• Covers: Natural uniform age-toning and light edge wear. FM 31-20 has some visible surface foxing/spotting on the front cover. Institutional ink stamps are crisp and legible.
• Interior Pages: Excellent condition. Text blocks are clean, sharp, and tightly bound with light natural edge-toning. No heavy water damage, missing pages, or aggressive markings.
Please review the high-resolution photographs to inspect the exact condition of the spines, covers, and tables of contents before purchasing.
