Size 20.25\" high with a rectangular stepped base of 6 1/8\" x 4.5\" [all one piece]

A traditional Medieval-style Madonna with baby Jesus in her arms. She is holding an orb on her right hand. This is an exact replica of a Madonna that would have stood in a Medieval French Cathedral- which would have been made of wood.

Features incredible minute detailing of a replicated wood texture complete with wormwood/worm hole effects that would have been accurate for the time. Also has faux wood graining which is dimensional all over the piece. Unless you pick this piece up, it looks like genuine aged wood- but it is chalkware. Quite a remarkable piece and quite rare.

This piece may have been a souvenir from a cathedral in France or possibly a museum shop piece because the quality is outstanding.

Looks amazing from all sides

Heavy and solid hand molded chalkware with a STUNNING finish of oxblood red over black. There is a slightly waxy topcoat on the piece which gives the paint a mellow, aged glow. It is meant to recreate the look of waxed wood, which it does.

Base is a 3-stepped rectangle in a black color. Underside is covered in furniture felt to protect table surfaces.

Very heavy- weighs 6 pounds

Excellent condition, this piece is meant to look antique and was purposefully created with an aged, imperfect look. There are no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, repairs, or damage of any kind other than one small area where the red has worn- miniscule and small and can only be seen if searching- see last pic. Please note- the pitting and \'holes\' throughout this piece are deliberately created by the Artist to be a replica of centuries old, worm-eaten wood. They are NOT damage to the surface.

SUPERB SMALL DETAILING and very fine craftsmanship. Highly Collectible.

This is a beautiful statue, great for a collector and would look magnificent on display.
