An incredibly rare and charming find for collectors of vintage oddities and canine memorabilia. This is a vintage mid-century European pocket shrine / miniature travel diorama.
Completely sealed in its original handmade metal frame with a beautifully scalloped border, the interior features a miniature Reverse-Painted Scottish Terrier (Scottie) cabochon. Below the dog is a tiny, delicate fabric tea rose set against a rich burgundy woven cloth backdrop.
The back of the shrine is finished with an authentic red wax seal bearing a Fleur-de-lis stamp, hinting at French or European artisanal origins. Truly a unique conversation piece, curiosity cabinet item, or a special token for a Scottie dog lover.
• Era: Circa 1930s–1950s
• Origin: European (likely France)
• Materials: Pewter/lead metal frame, early celluloid/lucite clear window, woven fabric, wax seal.
• Dimensions: Miniature pocket size (approx. 2 inches tall—see photos next to hand for exact scale comparison).
• Condition: Good vintage condition. The case remains completely sealed as originally made. The clear front window shows minor superficial age scratching as expected with early plastics, but the interior graphics remain bright, crisp, and beautifully preserved.
