Vintage collection lot of traditional multi blade utility pocket knives manufactured during the late nineteenth and mid twentieth centuries by iconic American and German cutlery firms. This specialized collector lot features three premium folding tools stamped by Robert Klaas Solingen, P J Kohl Germany, and Foster Brothers Fulton New York. The lot includes rare personal presentation engraving along with distinct corporate client branding from early midwestern agricultural and industrial operations. This lot consists of three distinct pocket knives sold together in as is vintage condition with varying cosmetic and structural states across the items.
The first knife is a single blade horticultural grafting budding knife stamped Robert Klaas Solingen Germany featuring smooth cream colored synthetic composition handle scales stamped for the United Bulb Company. The high carbon steel grafting blade has a full profile shape but displays heavy dark aged patina oxidation and pitting across the face.
The second knife is an executive equal end pen knife stamped P J Kohl Germany on the blade ricasso featuring a polished silver tone metal handle deeply engraved for the Lieberman Bed Spring Company of Chicago. The steel blades are intact with minor pocket scuffs and light natural aging.
The third knife is a pre 1890 antique presentation pen knife stamped Foster Bros Fulton NY on the tang. This piece features smooth gold tone metal handle scales adorned with ornate Victorian era cursive script engraving that reads J C to G W along with an integrated swivel lanyard bail loop on the end bolster. The carbon steel blades show a dark naturally aged antique patina with minor pocket scuffing and light surface scale oxidation spots but retain their full profiles.
