The front cover has: MADE ONLY BY THE READING HARDWARE Co. / READING, PA. . . the center has: PATENTED / MAY 5, 1868 / MAY 31 1875 / OCT 19 1875 / NOV 14. 1875 / MAY 22. 1877 . . in the small center has: 78. On the clamping arm it has: “5” and “78”.
CONDITION: This WORKING antique CAST IRON Clamp Apple Peeler Parer Slicer READING HARDWARE is UNTESTED, it has: some wear, patina, some slight rust, and soiling. Have not tried to peel an apple; however, when the handle is turned, it appears to function properly. May need a bit of lubrication. PLEASE SEE ALL PHOTOS!
