WW1 German M16 M17 Helmet Original Shell Split Pins & Liner Band SI 66 REPAINT For Sale

For sale here is aa good looking WW1 Imperial German M16 M17 Conversion Steel Combat Helmet Stahlhelm. This has a good looking camo paint job, but this is collector done. The m16 Shell is an SI 66, which is a nice larger size. The helmet does have some dents and dings in the top as well as one dent at the left chinstrap lug. The paint looks good and is well done, and is certainly quite old, but I don\'t believe it is original. The major dent in the top of the helmet happened after the paint was applied. The paint shows chin strap wear across the bill. The helmet seems to show some wear after the camo paint was applied. However, there appears to be a lighter color paint or primer under the paint that doesn\'t seem correct. The inside of the shell retains the original color. The interior of the dome has a heat stamp lot number that begins with BR, but is not fully legible. The liner pads are nice looking supple reproductions. The rivets, split pins, and steel liner band are all original. This wears well as a size 58 or 7 1/4 in the current configuration. This is a great looking helmet!
