This original World War II propaganda leaflet (designated 7-J-1) was produced by the Allied Forces—specifically the Psychological Warfare Branch—to encourage the surrender of Japanese soldiers by highlighting the humane treatment of Prisoners of War. The back display features a letter dated June 14, 1944, written by Japanese POWs at the Finschhafen Stockade in New Guinea, expressing gratitude to an Allied officer for their fair and kind care.
