About this phone:
Many hours of time went into restoring the telephone itself. It
was completely disassembled. Each component both inside and
outside of the phone right down to the smallest screw washand
cleaned and polished.
The body was repainted with care to be like the original.
The dialwas disassembled, cleaned, lightly oiled, checked for
calibration and worksnicely. The finger stop was polished
to a shine.Thedial number plate has nicecrisp numbers.
The hook switch and dial contacts were cleaned with originalBell
Telephone Seal Bond paperspecially designed for the purpose.
The transmitter is the earlier type with the Brass
Banana Tag that reads \"AMERICAN TEL & TEL CO \"
along with thepatent dates.
The receiver and mouthpiece were polished to a nice shine.
They went through a 10-step finishing process to make it like new.
The felt bottom was replaced with high quality
material to match the original.
A new line cord was installed so that it will fit into
today\'smodern land line jacks. Just plug it in.
The Candlestick requires aseparate ringer box in order to
function. This unique Wood Ringer Box with the outside
Brass Bells makes for abeautifuldisplay. It is a very early
style made of Walnut. TheWalnut is stamped on
the side and reads\"TYPE 57 PATD. APR 5, 1887\".
This early type ringer box has hinges and a latch hook for
closing. It was completely disassembled and refinished
and refitted as a working subset.
The phone is fully functional and tested. It dials out and rings
on incoming calls. It sounds like an old time phone.
If you prefer a different ringer box, bells (black or nickel)
or different dial card, I canchange itfor you, just ask.
All antiquerotary phones require a traditional landline
for dialingout. If you have another type of phone
service, check with yourprovider as you may need
a pulse to tone converter to dial out.They can be
purchased on and easily added to the end of
the phone line jack.
