Wonderful large vintage Mid-Century Italian Majolica Parrot Figurine on original Crown Metal stand. When displayed on the stand, the piece measures an impressive 23" long overall (bird itself approx. 18", stand about 15" tall). The parrot slides securely 5" into the base for display.
The parrot is beautifully detailed and hand-painted in vibrant shades of green and blue with yellow-striped wings. A true statement piece with strong mid-century style and Italian craftsmanship.
The metal stand was made by **Crown Metal Manufacturing Co. of Chicago**, a well-known American company active from the early 1900s through the mid-20th century. Crown Metal was noted for producing high-quality decorative and functional metalwork—lamp bases, stands, and furniture fittings—that often accompanied fine ceramics and glass from Italy and the U.S.
Condition: Very good overall with just a few small paint chips and nicks from age and handling. No serious damage or repairs noted. I did not find any maker’s marks or signatures on the bird.
A striking display piece that captures the charm and color of mid-century Italian majolica artistry. Please view all photos for details and feel free to ask any questions before offerding.
