This is an original real photo postcard (RPPC) from about 1915, showing a group of nine women standing on a rocky hillside in Pennsylvania. They have been identified as a group of local suffragists. The women wear the fashions of the 1910s: long tailored wool coats, fur muffs, a boldly striped coat, and wide-brimmed hats, one topped with a tall white plume. They pose confidently among the broken rock of what looks like a quarry or a mountainside rockslide, an unusual and striking setting for a group portrait of women at that time.

The years around 1915 were the height of the women\'s suffrage movement in Pennsylvania. That year, Pennsylvania men voted on a state amendment to give women the vote. Suffragists campaigned in every county and toured the state with the \"Justice Bell,\" a replica of the Liberty Bell with its clapper chained silent until women won the vote. The 1915 referendum was defeated, but the movement kept going. Pennsylvania ratified the 19th Amendment in 1919, and women across the country won the vote in 1920. Group photos of women from this era are sought after by collectors of women\'s history and suffrage-era photography.

The back is an undivided-style real photo postcard back, printed \"Post Card, Correspondence Here, For Address Only.\" It is unused, with no writing or postmark. The style of the card and the clothing date it to about 1912 to 1916.

The image is sharp and clear, with rich sepia tones and good detail in the faces and clothing. The card has light corner and edge wear and a slight curl, and the back shows age toning and light spotting. Please see all photos, which are part of the description.

Lost &Damaged Claims

For lost parcels, you must wait for 21 days domestic (US) and 45 days for International shipments. For shipments to Italy, you must wait 60 days before filing. Damage claims can be filed immediately. All claims should be submitted within 90 days from the date of shipment. All International parcels will be insured with U-PIC, please do not file a \"not received \"claim with PayPal, just contact us to resolve your problem.
