View Larger Image   Brass Barn or Store Door Bells Bell Set   Description: This is a very nice 19th century set of 3 sliding barn door bells. I have never seen these on a barn built after 1900, but I have seen them on barns from the 1950's. I believe they were used simply to make a good bit of noise when the animal stock doors were being opened or closed, I suppose so the owner would hear of any enter being made. This set has two alike bells on each end and one larger (thinner wall thickness) bell in the center. The larger is 2.38" diameter, and the smaller are 2.2" diameter. What appears to be the original bracket is a bit bent up and shortened on one end. Two of the bells are tightly attached to the bracket, one is a bit loose. Each of the bells has three original iron ringer, and all together they make quite a sound!
