View Larger Image   C. A. Myers Combination Sewing Awl   Description: This is a nice clean, used sewing tool handle, known as the "MYERS FAMOUS LOCK-STITCH SEWING AWL.", and marked "C.A. MYERS CO. CHICAGO" on one side of the tool, and "PAT. MCH 28 1905" on the tool. The kit includes heavy white thread that is contained on a spool, and one extra spool. The needles on this model are heavy duty for sail material or canvas, posibly to be used for leather. The tool is 5.2" long, and the needles are the larger 2 that were available, number 6 & 8, the 6 has the curved tip. The needles are designed for used with waxed thread, and are hollow. The needles can be stored inside the cavity of the thread wood handle.
