View Larger Image   Antique Sadiron & Trivet W H Howell 1800's Flat Iron   Description: Offering this antique sadiron or flatiron, dating 1830-1840's, using the primitive sand casting. No makers marks, measures 6 3/4 inches long x 4 inches wide x 5 3/4 inches tall including handle. Very good condition, no cracks or chips, no rust; handle is very secure. The cast iron trivet is marked The W H Howell Co, Geneva, Ill; circa 1882-1934. This trivet fits the iron perfectly. Measures 5 7/8 inches long x 4 1/4 inches wide x 1/2 inch tall. Very good condition, no cracks, chips, or rust; there are two raised nubs on the top, on in front and one in back. The front one looks have have a piece missing, it could be that this happenend during forging or a very old chip. Sets on three feet.
