Offering this exquisite 1880's engraving of a beautiful dark haired lady, excellent details in her face, large dark eyes, down to the hand made lace flowers on her blouse. She is resting after just picking a basket of fresh flowers from the hillside. Original artist was R. Eichstadt, title is Wilde Rosen. There is another name on the bottom right corner, that I cannot decipher, most likely the engraver. This engraving is set in a white matting with a cutout for the title. Ornate old wood frame with black finish and hand rubbed gold gilt over the detailed roses and leaves. Around inside edge of frame there are rows of beading and tiny leaves. Original glass protects the engraving. Wire hanger on back. Over all measures 17 inches x 20 inches, engraving as viewed is 8 3/4 inches x 13 3/4 inches. Fine condition, no chips on frame, no stains or tears on engraving. An extraordinarily beautiful piece of art that has a timeless style; perfect for any decor, victorian to modern. It would make a wonderful gift that will only grow in value!
