Pot measures 8 inches tall x 11 inches diameter wider at the middle that at the top or bottom; lid is 9-3/4 inches, inside diameter (the part that fits down into the pot),which gives a snug fit with an overlapping rim. The bottom is marked, "MARIETTA O. CO. 12" circa mid to late 1800's. Good++++ condition, no cracks or chips, some minor black build up on the outside from the fire smoke, the inside is clean and seasoned (with cooking oil and heat). A nice seasoned patina, clean. The top is clean and nice, with some minor staining, and dings. The forging company that made this nice old pot, was located near the mouth of the Muskingum River, at the Ohio River, on the east bank.
