View Larger Image   Stanley No 5 Jack Plane Sweetheart Type 12   Description: Offering this nice clean Stanley Bailey No 5 Jack Plane Type 12 with the smooth bottom, dated 1919-24; blade bears the Stanley Sweetheart logo. Marked behind the frog on the bed "PAT'D MAR.25-02 AUG.19-02 APR.19-10" and NO. 5 behind the handle. This plane is in good+ usable condition with some wear on the original black Japaning, but about 85% still intact; bear metal surfaces good+ condition, no cracks one small area of heel sidewall chipped off as shown in the pictures; clean, some minor dings, no rust or pitting, a past owner's intials prick punched on one side. The bottom working surface is clean and flat. The 2 inch wide blade is very clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is 85% in length and sharp, some surface pitting noted on the upper areas of the cutter, and chip breaker iron, none effecting the cutting edge area. The cutter is marked "STANLEY SW MADE IN U.S.A." with the sweetheart shaped logo. The cap cover is in good++ condition with very little wear. The rosewood handle is solid and clean; no cracks, very minor wear - some teeny dings on the sides, nice finish. Rosewood knob is in very good shape, solid and clean, no cracks or chips.
