This is a scarce early blackglass olive green hand blown rolling pin from the early to mid 1800s....probably made as a \"whimsey\" by a glassblower as a gift for his wife. The rolling pin is free blown....it measures 17 1/2\"long.....round cylinder shape .....snapped off pontil scar on one knob end......dark olive green blackglass...thick heavy glass!.....It has one surface potstone bruise; no other damage. Some light scratches which are to be expected on a rolling pin which was heavily used over 160 years ago! This rolling pin came from an old New England collection, along with other early New England glasshouse flasks and glassware..
