This is an excellent, regulation US Model 1859 McClellan saddle.
This particular example was made by contract manufacturer \"P. Ambler & Son\" of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and is one of only twoknown examples of this firm\'s saddles to exist. The maker\'s tag can be found on the pommel near side-board. Extremely rare and as fine of example of a Civil War Yankee cavalryman\'s saddle as one would ever see.
Perfect for the discerning collector or museum. Shows and displays well, and a great addition to any cavalry or mounted horsemen display.
The glass case it is in has been there as long as I can remember, it is an antique itself. It is not included with the sale as the hand blown glass is very fragile and I do not believe it will survive shipment.
