19th Century, 1836 American Folk Art Sampler Alphabet Numbers, framed.
This sampler hung in the 1798 Happy Union estate, a former plantation near Nassawadox Creek on the Eastern Shore of Virginia that was in the Floyd family since the 1830s.
Reads:
“Catherine Elizabeth Williams work this in the 11th year of her age March 11th 1836”.
Framed with glass. Measures 20 1/4 x 19 1/4 inches wide.
