2&This KATANA is hand forged and hand sharpened using Japanese methods to create a perfect blade. Fully functional and battle ready. The accessories of the sword are all authentic from the ray skin handle, to silk sage-o and copper oxidized fittings. This is the best sword you will find in the price range.
3&The balde was made of Damascus steel,it was Fully hand forged in a completely traditional manner.AISI 1060 High carbon steel and 1095 high carbon steel were smelted and pounded to fold 13 times to creat 8192 layers,Not only can remove the remain impurities of the carbon steel and better distribute the carbon to form the blank,But also allow the layers to bend at rates that differ very,very slightly when lateral (sideways)stress is placed upon the blade. Layering the steel creats resilience (toughness)that makes each par of the blade more likely to bend,and spring back,but not broken.The obvious undulating texture on the balde was resulted from folded repeatedly during forging.
4&This blade has been hand polished with multiple grade sharpen stone by Japanese method, which made the surface of the blade like a mirror, the blade is also very sharp.The tip of the blade is a Chu Kissaki (medium length), it is well defined with the hamon going all the way through the Boshi.
5&This blade comes with a full length Tang which greatly enhances the strength of the sword. this sword is strong enough to cut through a thick bamboo tree with a single strike yet sharp enough to slice paper.
6&Tsuba:The Tsuba (guard) of the sword is alloy. The Habiki (blade collar) is a one piece brass construction. Two Seppas (spacer) secure the Tsuba.
7&Tsuka: The Tsuka (handle) core is wooden and it is tightly wrapped over genuine skin Samegawa with a synthetic silk Ito. The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) are alloy.
8&Saya: The saya (sheath) of the sword is hard wooden
