Beautiful 19th century mahogany liquor casket, most likely French, with brass inlay and gilt accents on the outside. Front panel is hinged onto front edge of lid folds back and hangs when the lid is opened. There is a lock but the key is missing.
Side panels (6 by 6 inches fold out) and glasses can be removed from the outside, or the entire rack with decanters and glasses can be lifted out using center brass handle; design on handle is repeated in gilt on the front and lid.Three decanters (one missing), about 6 1/2 inches high, with ground pontils. Hand-blown pinched-waistcordial glasses are about 3 inches tall with square feet. There are spaces for 16 glasses (8 on each side), 5 are missing. Believe the glassware to be made by Baccarat based on old catalog pictures.Overall 13 inches wide, 9 1/2 inches deep, and 10 inches high.
In good condition, besides the missing glassware some of the brass inlay is loose and there are number of scratches to the finish -- see pictures.
