MINERAL DESCRIPTION

Calligraphy script, also known as Arabic Stone, Cobra Stone, Miriam stone, Elephant skin jasper, is naturally made up of Hematite iron & fossilized shells, giving it it’s unique look. This stone is found in India. Jasper, a form of chalcedony, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color; and rarely blue. It can be highly polished and is used for vases, seals, and in jewelry. Jasper has been used as gemstones and other ornamental objects for thousands of years. In the fourth century, the wearing of green jasper was said to bring rain and to cure snake bites. Jasper amulets were engraved with passages from the Book of the Dead by the ancient Egyptians to procure safe passage for the deceased in the realm of the dead.
