This horse hair hand etched Navajo pot has been beautifully crafted by Navajo potter D. Hadley. It shows a bear with a turquoise heartline and a bear paw with an inlaid turquoise stone. Between them are eagle wings. The pot measures 7 1/4" across and is approximately 1 1/2" high. It is signed and also hand etched on the bottom.
Native American horsehair pottery goes back centuries, but the exact origins are unknown. It's said to have been discovered by a woman pulling hot pottery out of a kiln. According to a story that's been passed down, a piece of her own hair dropped onto one of the pots, leaving a thin, dark line.We guarantee all of our Native American Indian items to be AUTHENTIC American Indian traditional arts.
