Dinosaur Sculpture Assemblage From Vintage Baking Powder & Candy Tins . Found object robot .

Rex is a Tyrannosaurus Rex fashioned out of upcycled retro kitchen utensils and advertising tins .

Rex was Handcrafted by That Perfect Patina in 2020 .

Here’s a little about this Bots life story.........

Rex is a few million years old , but because he works out regularly, so he looks to be in his mid 50’s. He attributes his good looks to Oil of Olay and his strict Vegetarian diet . All his high school friends were big meat eaters, but they are all now Extinct.

But Don’t let Rex fool you ....He has a major sweet tooth! Hence his vintage Woolworth’s candy tin head and his Royal baking powder body. On the back side of the baking powder tin on his belly , is his favorite recipe for Happy Day Cake (see photos).

However , this smart dinosaur robot knows the virtues of brushing your teeth well . He has never had a cavity on any of his 100 sharp teeth. In fact, he once starred in a Pepsodent commercial.

Rex likes to act and look tough , although inside he’s just a softy. I think he gets that trait from his distant cousin Barney.

His beefy tail is made a fancy vintage vegetable peeler and has just the right amount of red chippy paint . He was a stunt double on in Jurassic Park, so his food tin body parts show some wear and tear, but are still in nice condition for their mid century age.

Rex is what we call Found Object Art. What that means is that the artist (me) , searched high and low for the right combination of fun vintage kitchen items and lovingly transformed them into a metal sculpture for all to enjoy.

Rex the Dinosaur Robot has Arthritis from his many years on this planet. His body parts are fixed and are not moveable . However he is guaranteed to strike quite a handsome and eye catching pose on your desk or on a shelf. He is still sturdily made, however he is not a toy for children.

Shipped for Free within the continental United States by USPS Priority Mail. I will wrap him well for his travels to you. Rex also comes with a artist signed copy of his above life story .
