Background info on how Austin Sculptures are made:This sculpture is made of Durastone. Austin Sculpture puts steel armature or supports into the mold and then mixes the Durastone (a special formulation of crushed stone) into a slurry which is then poured into the mold. After the mold hardens it is removed from the mold & placed in a heated chamber for 48hrs to achieve optimum hardness and readies the sculpture for it's finish or patina. Each sculpture has the patina hand applied by skilled artisans before being waxed and buffed.
