This iridescent decor from Harrach is called Glatt Iris. The invention of hot-shaped iridescent glass from Harrach is attributed to Chemist, Leo V. Pantocsek, the Technologist at J. G. Zahn Glassworks in Zlatno, Slovakia. The Glassworks of J. G. Zahn presented iridescent glass at the 1873 Worlds Fair in Vienna. Harrach shared a great deal of interest in mastering the technique of Hot Shaping iridescent. Production began around 1875-76 and continued into the early 1900\'s. Fritz Heckert purchased Harrach, Glatt Iris blank for decoration which this is possibly a Heckert decorated example.
