Lieutenant Julius Kuperjanov and his partisan battalion
Estonia, War for independence 1920s
The partisan battalion was formed by lieutenant Kuperjanov in December1918. On January 14, 1919, the battalion was directly involved in theliberation of Tartu. January 31, 1919 Kuperjanov was mortally wounded in abattle near Valga. He died on February 2, 1919.
