This set of binoculars is extremely early, pre Zeiss , even the number is low, These were I\'m sure used in WW2by the German,many used for spoting for snipers. 8x56 are extremy strong and this has perfect optics, no fuss or lack of clarity . The case is in above good condition ,with the exception of the leather carrying strap is gone , easy remake, and one of the knobs that it attaches to is gone, around the rim of the cover also has a slight brake, ,again easy fix with leather cement and a small peice or reinforcing leather. The paint needs a touch up and the leather has a field fix that works well where the original leather covering has separated, just needs re glueing. This is over all a great set ,with a hard to find original case, it also has a belt slide for field carry , very nice to have.
