Original antique patterned rolled cloth from Germany around 1900.
It is made of beige, pattern-woven, robust damask, linen with a cream white appearance.Box mangles, rolling sticks, roses were woven into both sides.Blue borders woven with Art Nouveau ornaments on the edge.The lettering “roll cloth” is woven into the top and bottom edges.
Size: 80 cm wide and 194 cm long.31.50 inch wide and 77 inch long.
The cloth is in top condition. It has never been used or washed. Shiny damask linen, the finish is still there.Weight: 500 grams.Roll cloths were used to smooth out the house linen.The laundry was wrapped around round rolling pins and then rolled in the ironer. To protect the laundry, it was wrapped in the rolling cloth.The extraordinary stories are part of what makes them so appealing and enchanting.
