Vintage Handmade French Trompe L'Oeil Decorative 3D Ceramic Bowl of Fruits by Christine Viennet

Beautifully handmade 3-dimensional display of grapes, lemon, walnut shell and leaves on a vintage blue and white porcelain floral bowl. This high relief style is also called “Trompe L’Oeil”, i.e. “Deceive the eye”. Signed on the back with artist’s mark: “Handmade for Christine Viennet, after a model Flora, Greil-Montereau France Circa 1880”. Christine Viennet is a Franco-Norwegian artist born in 1947, famous for her 3-dimensional, Epicurean, Trompe L'Oeil ceramic pottery sculpture bowls. Also called Palissy ware, her work depicts fruits, nuts, food, leaves on floral or plain white plates. Made in Geil-Montereau France. I purchased it from an antique shop at Rue de Bac, Paris. Was displayed in the China Cabinet, in mint condition, without any chips or defects.
