Fredricks y Daries** (Calle de la Habana 108). Features a flawless, bright orange-red lithographed advertising backplate. Highly collectible and rare format.
* **SWEDEN:** A portrait from the studio of **Gösta Florman** (Stockholm), who famously served as the official photographer to the Swedish Royal Court.
* **GERMANY & SWITZERLAND:** Multiple elite European backplates/stamps including **Jos. Bscherer** (München - hand-labeled \'Luise Hofreiter\'), **Fr. X. v. Hofstetten** (München), **Otto v. Please review all listing photographs closely to assess the physical condition of this antique piece.
* **Exterior Book Casing:** The original brown leather cover features a beautiful embossed, hand-painted floral branch. The leather shows heavy edge wear, scuffing, and loss at the corners. The metal closure mechanism is intact, but the leather anchor loop has stretched from age.
* **Spine & Binding:** The exterior leather spine is heavily dried and cracking at the hinges. The interior page block is partially splitting/separating from the main leather binding.
* **Interior Pages:** The heavy cardstock framing pages have brilliant bright gold gilt edges. However, the frames themselves are very fragile. Many slots show old tears, chips, and missing paper from cards being swapped over the decades.
* **Tape & Repairs:** Please note that several pages have historic \"repairs\" made with old cellophane and masking tape (most notably securing the Swedish Gösta Florman card to its page slot). Attempting to remove these taped cards may cause damage to the paper. However, several other desirable cards (including the Havana and Munich pieces) slide out cleanly and are entirely free of tape or residue. This album is a spectacular piece of social history, ideal for collectors of early photography, fashion historians, or regional genealogy researchers. Sold entirely as-is, as pictured. Item is as was aquired and only some photos have been removed and examined.
