Approximately 5\" by 8\"

Original handwritten business letter dated February 25, 1887, from M. Fritsche of Palatka, Florida, to Messrs. Ferris & Weston in Jacksonville. The letter acknowledges receipt of a message and enclosed payment (“P.O.O. $12 as requested”) and requests prompt shipment of goods for “Mr. Sylvester.” A fine example of 19th-century Florida commercial correspondence, written on lined paper with two punch holes at the top. The piece captures the era’s formal business language and regional trade between Palatka and Jacksonville during Florida’s late-Reconstruction economic expansion.
