Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, turn-of-the-century antique promotional stickpin from White Rock Beverages, dating to circa 1902.
The front of the scalloped gold-tone pin features a beautiful struck relief of White Rock's iconic mascot, "Psyche at Nature's Mirror," depicting the winged fairy looking down into the water.
The reverse side features a scarce, highly localized merchant advertisement stamp reading: "Drink White Rock / Compliments / Robert M. Boyce." Robert M. Boyce operated a prominent grocery, wine, and cigar provisions shop at Walnut and 13th Streets in Philadelphia, PA, during the early 1900s.
The pin features its original, classic Edwardian-era twisted gold-tone long stem.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. The struck design of Psyche is crisp, and the reverse advertising text is fully legible. The long pin stem is straight and fully intact. A fantastic crossover piece for collectors of antique soda advertising, early American exonumia, or pre-Prohibition Philadelphia merchant history.
Shipping: Securely packaged in a sturdy box and shipped with full tracking. Please refer to the photos for exact condition and close-ups of the stamps.
