This is an antique Japanese Hand-Painted Chikaramachi porcelain tea set, including the tea pot, sugar bowl, creamer and set of 4 cups and saucers. Chikaramachi is a type of Japanese ceramic produced between 1928 and 1946. It is identified by a red or black stamp featuring a crown inside a wreath, accompanied by the words "Chikaramachi," "Hand Painted," and "Made in Japan". Manufactured by the Noritake Porcelain Company in Nagoya, Japan circa 1928-1946. The lid to the tea pot has a hairline crack, but isn’t broken. Please see photos to evaluate condition for yourself.
