Etched Bayonet, Model 1898. German Solingen WKC For Sale

An exemplary specimen of German parade weaponry, produced by the renowned Solingen manufactory WKC, one of the oldest and most respected cold weapon manufacturers in Germany. The Model 1898 bayonet in parade configuration differs from service variants through the presence of decorative etching on the blade, transforming utilitarian weaponry into an object worthy of ceremonial use. Such bayonets were worn by servicemen of the German Army during parades, formal assemblies, and official ceremonies, emphasizing the owner’s status and membership in the military caste. The WKC mark (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie) on the piece serves as a guarantee of superior manufacturing quality and artistic execution of the etched decoration.
