Fossil fish on matrix. Circa 48 m.y.o. Species Mioplosus.
Mioplosus fossil fish as excavated and with no stain or paint. Interesting that there has been a geological shift after the fossil was created resulting in a slight step in the middle of the fish. More interesting to some and seen as a fault by others.
Tertiary; Eocene; Green River Formation. Around 48 million years old.

Mioplosus is an extinct genus of lates perches that lived from the early to middle Eocene (about 56 to 33.9 million years ago) and is found in the Green River Formation.
