Offered is an original handwritten autograph of Isaac Newton Arnold (1815–1884), prominent Chicago attorney, U.S. Congressman, historian, and close friend and political associate of Abraham Lincoln.Arnold served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Illinois, and was an important figure in Chicago political and historical circles. He was also one of Lincoln's close friends and later became one of the earliest important biographers of Abraham Lincoln.The Library of Congress preserves original correspondence between Isaac N.
