This antique Joseph B. Renshaw Micrometer Depth Gage (Pat. Feb. 1, 1887) shows normal age and use related wear including scratches, small nicks, and minor surface marks consistent with long-term shop use and storage. **Please note, the rod may not be original to the tool, it seems smaller than the hole at the base. While the collar does tighten and hold the rod, there is some play because the size of the hole is slightly bigger than the diameter of the rod.
A small hand-cut mark is present on the upper edge of the base (shown in photos). This appears to be an old shop, inspection, assembly, or ownership mark.
Functions as intended. No attempt has been made to verify measurement accuracy or calibration. Sold as an antique/collectible, would need to be calibrated if utilized for measuring purposes.
