Original antique Japanese humorous art postcard illustrated by Hakusui Komeno (米野白水) and published by Kokkei Shinbun (滑稽新聞), dating from approximately 1909–1911 during the late Meiji era.
Titled \"Shinmame\" (新豆 / New Beans), the illustration presents an unusually simple and bold composition: a hand gently opens a large green bean pod to reveal the beans inside.
Although seemingly innocent at first glance, the image carries a playful and mildly suggestive visual humor characteristic of Japanese satirical and popular illustration of the period.
