OKORUSU FLUORITE & QUARTZ — DOUBLE-SIDED PURPLE CUBES, UV REACTIVE — NAMIBIA
BUY IT NOW: $299.99 OBO
IMPRESSIVE DOUBLE-SIDED FLUORITE SPECIMEN WITH DENSE PURPLE CUBIC CRYSTALS, QUARTZ-BEARING REVERSE & BLUE UV FLUORESCENCE
A striking 360-gram fluorite and quartz specimen attributed to the famous Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo Constituency, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia.
This substantial small-cabinet specimen features two completely different mineral displays, making it especially interesting for collectors of fluorite and unusual crystal associations.
SIDE ONE — EXCELLENT PURPLE FLUORITE CRYSTAL COVERAGE
The primary display face is densely covered with dozens of beautifully intergrown cubic fluorite crystals.
The crystals exhibit deep smoky-purple to nearly black centers, with translucent violet and lavender coloration around many of their edges.
Numerous cubes display naturally textured, finely frosted faces alongside areas of attractive reflective luster.
The overlapping crystals form a complex, three-dimensional arrangement, with larger prominent cubes surrounded by smaller cubic formations.
SIDE TWO — PURPLE DRUSY MINERALIZATION & WHITE QUARTZ
The reverse reveals an entirely different appearance.
A richly textured purple drusy surface is accented by numerous delicate white to translucent quartz crystals, creating impressive contrast against the darker purple mineralization.
Several small crystal-lined pockets and cavities add dimensional depth, while patches of golden-orange iron-oxide staining provide additional color.
The white quartz clusters are particularly attractive, with numerous tightly grouped crystals exhibiting bright reflective sparkle.
UV FLUORESCENCE — AN ADDITIONAL DISPLAY FEATURE
Under UV illumination, portions of the fluorite exhibit a striking electric-blue fluorescent response.
The UV photographs demonstrate this beautiful effect, providing another interesting characteristic beyond the specimen's appearance in natural lighting.
Fluorescence intensity and appearance can vary depending on the UV wavelength, light strength, and viewing conditions.
