Offered for sale is an original WWI U.S. National Army M1917 Enlisted Wool Dress Uniform Jacket, featuring a desirable 9th Corps Artillery wool shoulder patch.
This historic uniform retains its original U.S. National Army and Artillery collar discs, along with nearly all of its original buttons, with the exception of the bottom button on the front flap closure. The tunic also features a war service chevron on the left sleeve cuff, indicating that the original wearer served overseas. The wool shoulder patch and period insignia further enhance the historical appeal of this scarce WWI-era uniform.
Condition: The tunic remains in good overall condition for its age, exhibiting light handling wear, scattered holes, staining, moth damage, and signs of long-term storage. Despite these imperfections, the uniform remains an attractive example of an American WWI military dress jacket.
A fantastic example of an original First World War U.S. Army uniform, complete with desirable period insignia, unit identification, and a war service chevron representing the service and sacrifice of its original wearer. An excellent addition to any WWI militaria collection, particularly for collectors of American artillery and early U.S. Army uniforms.
