Top effigy: Stylized fox or canine spirit head with pointed ears and snout, finished in dark tones with remnants of red and yellow paint
Below it: Well-carved male Indian head wearing a red headdress, black hair, and green accents on the chest
Handle: Beautifully chip-carved with repeating geometric triangle patterns — a classic Penobscot technique

Very, Very Good vintage condition with natural wood patina, light surface wear, and some paint loss consistent with age and handling but the paint is really great for a 19th century piece.
