This vintage hand hitched horsehair quirt with an integrated leather popper is a unique and handmade collectible piece from the Western Americana culture of the 1960s-80s. The specific shade, tone, and structure are classic hallmarks of Western prison-hitching from the post 1960s era.This 32" quirt was purchased in the 1980's at the National Bit, Spur & Saddle Collectors Association (NBSSCA) show in Loveland, Colorado. The quirt is in excellent to near-mint condition.
