Vintage MSA Topgard firefighter helmet associated with the District of Columbia Fire Department.
Yellow full-brim fire helmet with original-style DCFD markings including:
* District of Columbia Fire Department shield
* Red PROBATIONER front identification plate
* Green T-2 unit marking
* V. HOAGLAND handwritten inside the brim
Interior molded QC/date wheels show 1968, 1969 and 1970. The surrounding manufacturer/QC area has been heavily sanded or abraded, so an exact production year cannot be confirmed. The surviving interior warning label and shell construction are consistent with vintage MSA Topgard fireman’s helmets.
Helmet shows substantial service and age wear throughout, including scratches, scuffs, grime, finish loss, rubbed areas, discoloration and wear to the applied markings. Interior suspension and chin strap are present but show considerable age and use. Please review all photos closely for exact condition.
