Beautiful matching pair of signed Italian ceramic plates by Molaroni of Pesaro, Italy.
Each plate features an elaborate Renaissance-inspired design with scrolling floral and foliate decoration surrounding a central stylized bird medallion. The dramatic dark ground, ivory and muted-gold decoration, and deeply scalloped rims give the pair a striking Old World Italian appearance.
Both pieces are individually hand signed “Molaroni Pesaro” on the reverse.
Details: Pair of 2 plates; approximately 7.5" diameter each; combined weight approximately 1.3 lb; hand-painted ceramic/maiolica; scalloped molded edges; made in Pesaro, Italy.
