Description:
Up for sale is an authentic, original World War I British 13-Pounder (13PR II) brass artillery shell case. This piece is an excellent historical relic from the final year of the Great War.
The headstamp on the base is very crisp and features highly detailed, legible military markings:
• 13PR II: Denotes the piece was manufactured for the British QF 13-Pounder Field Gun (Mark II Case).
• 1918: Clearly stamped production date from the closing stages of WWI.
• R.L.: Stamped for the Royal Laboratory at the Woolwich Arsenal in London, England.
• Broad Arrow (↑): The classic British War Department/Ordnance acceptance mark.
This solid brass casing makes a phenomenal display piece, historical collectible, or military heirloom.
Condition:
Completely inert and safe to own. It is in good vintage condition with a beautiful, natural aged patina across the brass face. Markings are well-defined and clearly legible. Please review the photos carefully to evaluate the condition for yourself.
